I kept thinking it sounded like Kuwabara from Yu Yu Hakusho, but when I looked it up, the VA for Kuwabara did the voice for Dai Amon in the 1992 Bastard OVA nothing in this 2022 ONA. The VA for this 2022 ONA is Kishō Taniyama whom has done a lot of side character VA work.

I was referring to the "he spent many years raising her until she got thicc" comment. As that is kind of what Seshomaru did with Rin.

That's not really looking and acting like him though. That's more just raising her the same way as him but I'd say even less because it was hard to ever see his attachment to Rin until his daughters were old enough.

since this is a netflix anime, fantranslators look the other way and instead we get the official netflix subs which are just the dub dialogues.
Same thing happened with castlevania where the subtitles are full of F bombs and stuff that the japanese version doesn't have.

Waiting for the second course because this was an entertaining remake of an old shonen jump series

I think the 90s version, English dubbed, is superior to this.

They seemed to be padding the run time and over-explaining things before they are relevant instead of trying to integrate story beats organically. The 90s version did it a lot better.

Well that's one hell of a way of ending a season.
I enjoyed this a lot more than I expected - although the dubtitles were dreadful (and hysterical how they kept glossing over the fact that Darsh was referring to her as his daughter xD)

Yoko is not making him a dark protagonist damn it hope she gets killed in the next season

This animation style is top tier godlike. I really enjoyed this, and I hear that Season 2 will come out later this year. Can't wait for it!

Can anyone who watched the original version and watched this one given me their opinion on which version is better.

There are lot of scenes and dialogues in the old one that are better than this remake but this new one is definitely better, except for the weird and wrong subs

Old - Fights - 10/10
Backstory - 8/10
Subtitles - 9/10

New - Fights - 10/10
Backstory - Fewer than old but 10/10 because loli arshe is the best
Subtitles - 3/10

I'll say it again like i said it to others ,the subtitle here are DUB ENG SUBS ,there are normal subs ,so there are 2 english subs version ,gogo decided to upload the dubbed version sub instead of the normal subs ,also a bunch of sîtes did the same ,so if you want to watch the anime with the normal subs ,just download the entire season from nyaa and switch to normal subs ,that's what i did

Well asides that poster being a troll with multiple accounts liking himself. I've taken screen shots in the past of it There is actually 2 versions of Bastard. The 90's version and 2022 Netflix version. As for complaining on it not being Dub you can also look up the dubbed version on the website. A lot of people prefer subbed. The voice acting tends to sound better and more natural to the characters over English VAs. Gogo also tends to get a lot of sub. Very few networks do Dub. There was Funimation.

I think the original version from the 90s, the one with a great English dub, is better than this.

seen both, this has way more "sexy time" and DS nudity. the original got thru more of the story in 6 eps but less side character development

Original version has nipples. This one has everything else.
